Content that makes your work look as good as it is
I spent almost a decade as Senior Editor at Houzz, deciding which interior design projects were good enough to feature. Now I write the words that get your projects featured, on your site, in your inbox campaigns, and in front of the clients you actually want.
Is your portfolio doing its job?
As an interior designer, you know how to make your website look beautiful, but do you know how to make it say something? Do you have a story, a strategy? Is there a reason for Google to find your work? And can a prospective client understand why a room works?
If you’d like to make your website work harder for your interior design business, that’s where I can help. You didn't train as a writer, and you shouldn't have to – you’ve got other things to do. But I did, and with my experience and skills, I can make your work stand out online and improve how clients connect with it.
What I do
Everything your site needs to stand out
Portfolio Storytelling
Project descriptions that go beyond “this light-filled living room features...". I explain the brief, the client, the challenge, the decisions, and the result. I see it through the eyes of an editor, as a compelling story that connects with potential clients.
Website Copywriting
Whether it’s your Home, About, or Services pages, I’ll write copy that sounds like you. I’ll also make sure it reads like a publication, and is structured so people, Google and AI can actually understand what you offer.
Blog and Editorial Content
I can plan a schedule of regular, genuinely useful content, including trend pieces, buying guides, before-and-afters. Each piece will be written to editorial standard, not ‘content mill’ standard.
SEO and AEO Strategy
Structured for how people actually search now: traditional SEO plus AEO (answer engine optimisation). I’ll help you navigate the process to give your expertise the opportunity to get surfaced by AI search tools and Google's answer boxes.
Why me
I've read thousands of interior design portfolios, and I know what makes one stand out.
For almost ten years I was the person deciding what got published at Houzz UK, which projects were strong enough to feature, which stories had a hook, which photography and copy combinations actually connected with readers and potential clients.
I've also trained as a residential interior designer at the KLC School of Design, so I'm not translating your world from the outside.
That combination of editorial judgement and design literacy is why I can help designers more than a generalist copywriter.
How it works
-
We talk about your interior design studio, your ideal client, and where your current content is falling short.
-
You get a clear content strategy, detailing what to write, in what order, and why. This happens before any writing starts.
-
I get to work writing your copy, and send it over for your approval. Your site starts sounding as good as your projects look.
